Craving brownie batter without turning on the oven? This no-bake Brownie Batter Dip brings all the chocolatey nostalgia back in just minutes.
If you were the kid who always snuck a taste of the batter, you're my people! We always had a box of brownie mix in the pantry growing up. Sometimes it got baked into tahini brownies, sometimes cute little brownie bites, but the batter was the best part for me.
This Brownie Batter Dip takes that batter on the spoon joy and turns it into a no-bake dip you can make in less than 10 minutes. Take it to any gathering alongside my Cake Batter Dip and a bag of pretzels and watch it disappear before your eyes.

Key Ingredients

- Cream Cheese: I use full fat cream cheese in this recipe, but use what you have on hand. The Philadelphia Cream Cheese block is perfect. Just be sure to let it soften on the counter before starting the recipe.
- Unsalted Butter: Let your butter come to room temperature.
- Boxed Brownie Mix: I've always been a Duncan Hines girl and the classic Chewy Brownies work great in this recipe. The same one you use for brownie mix cookies is perfect. In a pinch, you can substitute for a devils food cake mix.
Heat Treat the Brownie Mix
There is a really easy way to make sure the cake mix is safe to eat raw. It's the same method I use for cooking the flour in my edible cookie dough recipe.
- Spread the brownie mix out on a parchment lined baking sheet and bake for 350℉ for 5-7 minutes.
- Alternatively you can microwave the cake mix in 30 second intervals for 2-3 minutes, stirring as you go.
In either case, your goal is to raise the temp to 165℉ degrees to kill off any of those bacteria. Be careful not to "toast" the cake mix as it can alter the flavor. Then proceed with the recipe as written.
Flavor Variations and Brownie Batter Add-Ins
- Caramel Swirl: Once the batter is mixed up, add in a swirl of your favorite store bought caramel.
- Chocolate Swirl: Swirl in some homemade chocolate sauce or drizzle it over the top before serving for a chocoholics dream come true.
- Mint Chocolate: Chop up some Ande's Mint's or crush some candy cane's and mix them into the brownie batter. Great served with Grinch Cake Mix Cookies for a holiday party.
- Crushed Oreos: Use the leftovers from my no-bake chocolate pudding pie toppings for a cookie and cream brownie batter. Just crush up some Oreo's and mix them right in.
- Chopped Nuts: If you like nuts in your brownies, now's the time to add them in. Simply chop them up finely and stir into the batter.

All about the dippers!
You want to find dippers that balance out the brownie batter and will hold up when dipped. We like a combination of salty and sweet. Here are some of our favorites:
- Pretzel Rods
- Wafer Cookies
- Graham Crackers
- Nilla Wafers
- Ritz Crackers
How to make brownie batter dip

Step 1: In a mixing bowl with a hand mixer, mix the butter and cream cheese until light and fluffy.

Step 2: Then add in the brownie mix. The brownie batter dip will be thick at this point. Add in the milk until the mixture reaches your desired consitency.

Step 3: Put into a serving dish and enjoy immediately OR cover with plastic wrap pressed right on the surface and refrigerate for up to 4 days.

Recipe FAQ's
Yes, since it contains raw flour, heat-treating makes it safe to eat in a no-bake dip.
Greek yogurt, vanilla yogurt, or mascarpone all work; start with ½ cup and add more to get the right consistency. These substitutes all contains more liquid than the cream cheese so you won't need as much.
Add Tablespoon of milk to thin it out. Add only one at a time until you reach your desired consistency.
