Simple and delicious strawberry puree is great for babies. Quick and simple to make, you'll want to keep your freezer stocked at all times. Use the puree in smoothies, cocktails, paired with other purees or stirred into yogurt or oats. It's delicious any way you use it!
Wash and hull strawberries (cut off the stems and a bit into the berry).
For Frozen Berries
Let the bag of strawberries defrost on the counter for 10-15 minutes before pureeing.
Next Steps for fresh or frozen strawberries
Put them into a high speed blender and puree to desired consistency. Then pour into storage container (I like glass mason jars for the fridge or silicone ice cube trays for the freezer).
Refrigerate for up to a week, or freeze in cubes for up to 2 months.
Notes
If you use fresh strawberries, use them at the peak of their freshness. Look for berries that are bright to dark red and firm to the touch. Additionally, make sure wash fresh strawberries well before pureeing. This puree can be used immediately, stored in the fridge for up to 5 days or frozen up to 3 months. If you are freezing, use a silicone ice cube tray to freeze into easy to use cubes.
