EASY PASSOVER Dessert

Chocolate Toffee Matzo Crack

A true Passover treat, this chocolate toffee matzo crack recipe is super easy to put together with just 5 ingredients and about 10 minutes of hands-on time.  It’s so good you’ll find yourself making even when Passover ends!

Matzo Unsalted Butter Brown Sugar Chocolate Chips Sea Salt

Ingredients

Lay matzo across the bottom of the lined pan creating just 1 layer, breaking the matzo as needed to fill the entire bottom of the pan.

Step 1

Heat butter and brown sugar in a sauce pan, on the stove set over medium heat. Bring the mixture to a boil and and stir. Once done, spread on top of the matzo.

Step 2

Evenly sprinkle the chocolate chips over the matzo. Then put in the oven and heat until melted. Remove and evenly spread the chocolate.

Step 3

Sprinkle with sea salt to finish and put into the fridge or freezer to set. Once set, remove from the fridge and enjoy!

Step 4

I like to use the traditional “plain” matzo, but you could easily use egg matzo if you like.  It’s a little bit softer, so it may not give you the same “crack”, but will taste just as good.  You can also use gluten-free matzo without any change to the recipe.
